About Denise Wood…
Jewelry designer Denise Wood’s artistic heritage extends back to the Italian Renaissance when her ancestor, Giovanni Rustici, collaborated with Leonardo DaVinci. Her natural talents have been augmented with many years of real-life experience including a degree in Jewelry Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology; working as a custom jewelry designer for a jeweler close to her home in Connecticut; traveling through Europe to explore the latest trends for a major costume jewelry house and immersing herself in the rich cultural environment on the island of Bali, where she worked for two years as a designer for a major fashion collection.
While in Bali, Denise was chosen to design a pin that was worn by the Prime Minister of Indonesia, as well as an elegant trophy that was presented to actress Jodi Foster by the Big Sister Foundation of California.
After her return from Bali in 1999, she launched her own collection, Denise Wood Designs, which reflects her broad interests and keen sense of style. Most designs are executed in 18kt gold enhanced by pearls, druse, diamonds and a variety of gemstones including peridot, tourmaline, garnet, chalcedony, zircon, tanzanite, citrine and more, and each pearl, bead and gemstone is hand-selected by Denise.
In 2000, Denise Wood had the honor of being chosen as one of four New Rising Stars at the prestigious JCK Vegas show.
Most recently, Denise announced the launch of denisewooddesigns.com. The site showcases her collection, lists retail outlets and personal appearances and provides general news and information about the company.
Known for their quality, style and attention to detail, Denise Wood’s designs adorn the modern woman in a wonderfully wearable line of fine jewelry.
